Order to use modern technology to recover 10 people missing for years

Karachi: The Sindh High Court has ordered the police to use modern devices and technology to recover more than ten people who have been missing for many years.

A two-member bench headed by Justice Nimatullah Phalphoto heard the petitions related to the recovery of more than 10 missing persons. A missing citizen’s mother said, “My son has been missing for 12 years. Nothing happens in JITs. He is called to JITs and sent back. No trace has been found for 12 years. If If my son has committed any crime, he should be brought to court and punished.

The court inquired how many JITs have been done? The investigating officer said that 23 JITs and 16 PTF meetings have been held. Justice Nimatullah Phalphoto inquired that he has been missing for 12 years, what will you answer? The investigating officer said that letters have been written to all agencies and efforts are being made to recover the citizen.

The family of the missing citizen said that the husband is missing for 11 years, there is no source of livelihood, they are called in JITs but no action is taken.

Justice Nimatullah Phalphoto remarked that you people are not worried, we will give you justice. The judge inquired from the investigating officer for the recovery of Ali, a missing citizen since 2014, that what steps were taken to recover him? The investigating officer said that 19 JITs have been conducted, letters have been written to 12 departments, letters have been sent to all agencies of Balochistan, Sindh, Punjab and KPK and their reactions are awaited.

Similarly, the missing citizens Abu Bakr and Zahidullah were wanted by the police.

The court issued an order to use modern devices and modern technology to recover all the missing citizens. The court adjourned the hearing till February 15 while seeking a progress report from the DIG Investigation on the next hearing.
