The coldest morning of this season in Karachi, light rain is also possible today

Karachi: This morning has been declared the coldest of this season in the city of Quaid, while the meteorological department has also indicated the possibility of light rain today.

According to the Meteorological Department, the cold weather has increased in the city due to the north-easterly winds and the temperature in the city is 14 degrees Celsius in the morning. Winds are blowing at a speed of 8 km per hour.

The daytime temperature in Karachi is likely to be around 26 degrees Celsius and winds will be blowing at a speed of 20 to 25 km per hour. The Meteorological Department has said that the cold weather will intensify in the coming days while a western rain system is likely to enter Balochistan on January 4, which may affect some parts of Balochistan by January 5.

Under the influence of the current weather system, light to moderate rain, wind, thundershowers (snowfall on mountains) are expected in Chaghi, Quetta, Chaman, Ziarat, Qila Abdullah. Apart from this, Qila Saifullah, Loralai, Pashin, Mastung, Zhob, Kalat, Musa Khel, Kharan, Harnai, Sabi, Nushki, Khuzdar and Makran coasts are expected to receive rain on January 4 and 5.

Meanwhile, heavy fog will remain in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa plains and upper Sindh including the capital Islamabad, due to which the day temperature is likely to drop by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in the coming days and due to heavy fog. The weather is likely to remain cold in the affected areas. Experts say exposure to hazy environments can cause health problems.

The Meteorological Department has advised citizens and travelers to be cautious.
