Accountability Court;  Another 6-day physical remand of Fawad Chaudhry approved

Islamabad: Accountability Court approved another 6-day physical remand of Fawad Chaudhry.

Fawad Chaudhry was presented in front of Judge Muhammad Bashir of the Accountability Court, on this occasion Special Prosecutor Irfan Bhola, Sohail Arif and the investigating officer appeared on behalf of NAB while Fawad Chaudhry’s lawyer Faisal Fareed Chaudhry and others also appeared in the court.

The prosecutor argued in the court and said that a 14-day remand was requested, while a 10-day remand was granted. He was interrogated on various aspects, some of them even confessed. 8 kanal land was transferred in their name, according to the records it was paid by the contractor. Further investigation is to be done. The concerned contractor and XEN have been called on 2nd January. Various recoveries are also to be made and other evidences to be collected including suspicious transactions. Therefore, the court is requested to remand for another 10 days so that the inquiry is completed.

The judge inquired how his behavior was. To which Fawad Chaudhry replied that he was remanded for 10 days, he behaved well, they are educated people. Later, the accountability court reserved the decision regarding extending Fawad Chaudhry’s physical remand or not, later releasing it, the court granted another 6-day physical remand of Fawad Chaudhry and instructed to complete the investigation and to consult the lawyers. Make an appointment too. The court ordered Fawad Chaudhry to appear again on January 5.
