3 assistant professors of Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar resigned in 3 months.
According to hospital sources, 3 assistant professors of LRH have resigned in the last 3 months, Dr. Tariq Sohail, in-charge of pediatric cardiac surgery department is also included among the resigned doctors.
Sources say that the in-charge of the ENT department, Dr. Tahir Muhammad and the in-charge of the Pad Surgery department, Dr. Farooq Abdullah have also resigned.
Dr. Tariq Sohail was the only pediatric cardiac surgeon in the province.
In this regard, Dr. Tariq says that he resigned due to economic crisis, health card closure, non-supply of medicines in ICU.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah said that in 2021, he left his job abroad and started duty at LRH, resigned due to lack of surgical equipment, medicines and salary delay in the hospital.
A spokesperson of Lady Reading Hospital says that steps are being taken to recruit new doctors, to meet the shortage of doctors in the hospital.
