Supreme Court;  The request to stop the judicial council proceedings against Justice Mazahir was rejected

Islamabad: The Supreme Court rejected the request of judicial council to stop the proceedings against Justice Mazahar Naqvi.

The first hearing was held in the open court on the request of Justice Mazahir Naqvi. The hearing was conducted by a 3-member special bench headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan, which also included Justice Jamal Khan Mandukhel and Justice Musarat Hilali. Justice Mazahir Naqvi has challenged the Supreme Judicial Council’s actions and demonstrations.

It should be noted that the 3-member bench will also hear the request of Advocate Dawood to prevent Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan from participating in the Judicial Council.

At the beginning of the hearing, Justice Mazahar Naqvi’s lawyer Makhdoom Ali Khan came to the rostrum and started his arguments.

Justice Jamal Khan Mandukhel said that you are raising objection on the bench. How can the bench which is objected to grant an injunction to stay the proceedings of the council?

Justice Mazahir Naqvi’s lawyer said that the case should be fixed for hearing before the council’s action, to which Justice Aminuddin Khan said that it is fine, we will keep the hearing on January 8.

It should be remembered that the Supreme Judicial Council has postponed the hearing against Justice Mazahar Naqvi till January 11. Later, the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing till January 8 on the applications of Justice Mazahir Naqvi.
