Saudi Arabia has made a big announcement for Pakistani students.
According to the Higher Education Commission, Saudi Arabia has once again announced to give 700 scholarships to Pakistani students for higher education in its 25 universities.
These scholarships will be given to Diploma, Degree, Masters and PhD students. Both Pakistani students legally residing in Saudi Arabia and male and female students residing in Pakistan are eligible for these scholarships.
75% of the scholarships will be given to students from Pakistan and 25% to Pakistani students residing in Saudi Arabia. Students interested in getting the scholarship have to apply directly on the respective university website or online portal.
Every university has its own admission criteria and time frame. Therefore, students have to take help from the university regarding admission to their respective subject and class.
Except for Princess Noora bin Abdulrahman University for Students in Riyadh and Jamia Islamia Madinah, all universities are obliged to admit only 25 percent of international students.
Once the students have applied online, the universities will forward the scholarship applications received from the students to the Saudi Ministry of Education, which will make the final decision on awarding the scholarship.
Applicants will also send a copy of their application to the official email of the Pakistani Embassy so that the applications can be followed up with the Saudi Ministry of Education.
Applicants for the scholarship must belong to Pakistan or Pakistan-administered Kashmir. Both male and female are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
Applicants for degree programs should be between 17 and 25 years of age, 30 years for Masters and less than 35 years for Ph.D. Age will be calculated from the final date of admission.
It is important that the student receiving the Saudi scholarship is not currently receiving any other scholarship. To be eligible for the scholarship, the student must have no criminal record and have never been expelled from the university for any reason.
Free accommodation in Saudi Arabia will be provided to the students who get the scholarship and furnishing allowance for the first three months to the married students.
Free air ticket to and from Saudi Arabia and free medical treatment facility for family if married.
Scholarship recipients will be provided food, sports and recreation facilities at discounted rates in university campuses while travel expenses for dependents will also be supported.
Science students will be paid 900 Saudi Riyals per month, while arts students will be paid 850 Saudi Riyals per month.
