The issue of hosting the 14th South Asian Games has gone sour. Next year’s games are to be hosted by Pakistan. The Sri Lankan Sports Minister also issued instructions to their federations to prepare for hosting the Games.
The 14th South Asian Games will be held in March next year. Pakistan was given the hosting of these games in 2019. Earlier, these games were supposed to be held in 2021, which was allowed to be held in 2024 due to the spread of the corona virus.
The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) and the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination have not been able to settle the issues regarding the funds of the Games, due to which the hosting of these Games may be taken away from Pakistan.
On the other hand, India has also come forward to host Sri Lanka instead of Pakistan.
According to the report, Sri Lankan Sports Minister Shimal Fernando has also issued instructions to his federation to prepare to host the Games and asked the authorities to be ready.
