Golf’s world governing bodies, the US Golf Association and Britain’s RA End, have decided to modify the texture of the golf ball, which will reduce golfers’ long distance hits by at least 15 yards.
According to media reports, the World Golf Organizations have decided to make some modifications in the shape of the ball to limit the long drives of the golfers.
Details of these modifications have not yet been released, with the modified balls to be used at the elite level from 2028 and at the recreational level from 2030.
The new modifications to the golf balls will reduce ball travel by 15 yards on hits by professionals, while the difference is likely to be 5 yards on hits by amateur golfers.
