The provincial health department has said that an anti-polio campaign will be launched across Sindh from tomorrow.
According to the spokesperson of the Sindh Health Department from Karachi, more than one crore children in the province will be vaccinated against polio.
He said that 5 cases of polio have been reported in Pakistan this year. The spokesperson said that 3 cases have been reported from District Bannu and 2 cases from East District in Karachi.
The spokesman said that several positive environmental samples of polio virus were reported in Karachi in 2 months. Karachi’s positive environmental patterns are related to different parts of Afghanistan.
The spokesman said that Karachi is the economic center of the entire region, the repeated appearance of patterns is a matter of concern.
