Australian-style training of Pakistani cricketers for Australia tour

The training camp of the national Test squad for the tour of Australia has come to an end at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The national Test squad took part in a practice session of about 4 hours, during which the players did special drills for slip fielding.

Team Director Mohammad Hafeez led the slip fielders’ practice.

Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Saud Shakeel and Salman Ali Agha practiced in the slip while Sarfaraz Ahmed kept wicket in the practice session.

Pakistani batsmen were also given batting practice in 2 phases.

In the first phase batting was done with cricket ball on marble slab while in the second phase batting was done with synthetic ball and tape ball.

The purpose of batting with synthetic and tape balls is to practice on Australian pitches.

According to sources, Test spinner Sajid Khan has also been invited to the camp.

He will participate in a special net session under the mentorship of spin bowling coach Saeed Ajmal.

Sources say that Sajid Khan will participate in the ongoing camp of the Test squad till November 28, while Usama Mir, Usman Qadir and Shadab Khan are also participating in the ongoing camp.

On the other hand, Chairman Management Committee PCB Zaka Ashraf met the players and team management at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

The Chief Selector of Pakistan Cricket Team Wahab Riaz also visited the camp in Rawalpindi and reviewed the National Test Squad.

Wahab Riaz met captain Shan Masood, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Hafeez.

Chief selector Wahab Riaz also met team manager Naveed Akram Cheema.
