Cricket Australia has announced the Prime Minister’s XI against Pakistan. The names of 12 players in the team have been finalized.
The Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese and the National Selection Panel of Australia announced the PM XI for the only four-day match against the Pakistan Test cricket squad.
The squad will be led by South Australian batsman Nathan McSweeney. 6 players in the 12-member squad already have Test cricket experience.
Former Sri Lankan Test cricketer Thilan Samaraweera, who recently coached Australia A, has been appointed as the head coach of PM XI.
The Prime Minister’s XI includes Nathan McSweeney (captain), Cameron Bancroft, Cameron Green, Marcus Harris, Nathan McAndrew, Todd Meerfee, Michael Nesser, Jimmy Pearson, Matthew Renshaw, Mark Steckty and Beau Webster.
Australian Prime Minister said that I congratulate Nathan McSweeney on being named captain. I am sure that he will lead the team in a great way.
He also said that I congratulate Pete Cummins and his team for winning the World Cup. His brilliant performance in the final against India on Sunday made the entire nation happy. Of course Pat Cummins and his team will continue to show bravery on the cricket field.
