An outbreak of pneumonia has broken out in China, affecting mostly children.
The World Health Organization has asked China for more details on an outbreak of respiratory disease and pneumonia in children in the country’s north, and has urged measures to reduce the risk of infection.
According to the WHO, an increase in influenza-like illness has been reported in northern China since mid-October.
The United Nations Health Organization said in a statement that the WHO has made a formal request to China for detailed information on the increase in respiratory diseases and reports of pneumonia in children.
According to foreign media, some hospitals in different cities of China are full of sick children.
On the other hand, Beijing’s National Health Commission (NHC) told the media last week that the increase in respiratory illness was due to the lifting of corona restrictions and common bacterial infections that affect children.
