Punjab government has banned 5 cough syrups in the province.
Caretaker Minister Primary and Secondary Health Care Dr. Jamal Nasir says that these cough syrups manufactured in Lahore were also supplied abroad.
Dr. Jamal Nasir said that the World Health Organization (WHO) investigation on the Maldivian complaint in the syrups confirmed high alcohol content, on Drape’s recommendation, the Punjab government stopped the sale of all five syrups.
He said that the stock of these syrups is being taken immediately from all the medical stores of Punjab, and the factory manufacturing the syrup is being sealed.
