There should be a policy of not asking about money coming into the industry, Nawaz Sharif

The bad situation has arisen due to our own decisions, said PML-N leader

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif has said that there should be a policy of not asking about the money coming into the industry.

Addressing the officials of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nawaz Sharif said that we understand the economic difficulties of Pakistan. We have always consulted you, we will proceed only with the consultation.

Nawaz Sharif said that the business community of Pakistan fully implemented our policies. India adopted our policies and achieved economic growth. Since the 1990s, we have freed business from traditional boundaries. Other countries have also gone through these stages. When we made policies, the treasury started filling up.

He said that there should be a policy of not asking about money coming into the industry. If our policies and the pace of development of the 1990s had continued, today Pakistan would have been far ahead in the pace of development. It is our responsibility and duty to free the people from inflation and poverty.

The former prime minister said that if people demand development, education and health, then it is their right and it is the responsibility of the state to provide these facilities. Between 2013 and 2017, Pakistan had become the 24th economy in the world. We pegged the dollar at 104 for 4 years. If the development and policies of our era had continued, the dollar would have been worth 40 or 50 rupees today.

He further said that after the nuclear explosions in 1998, Islamic countries started considering Pakistan as their protector. Today it has become a situation that one billion dollars have become in need. We have struck this ax on our own feet. These bad situations are caused by our own decisions.

Nawaz Sharif said that during our time there was only 6% policy rate. Today it stands at 22 percent. Who can do business with him? We ourselves have abused our Parliament and Prime Ministers. Then to whom was the country handed over? The rupee, the economy and the whole system suffered a disaster. In our era, the bill used to be 1000 rupees, today the bill is 15000 thousand. Prices have increased 5.5 times.
