Virat Kohli's 50th century breaks Tendulkar's world record

Indian batsman Virat Kohli broke the world record of his compatriot Sachin Tendulkar by scoring his 50th century in ODI cricket.

Virat Kohli scored his 50th century in the first semi-final of the World Cup against New Zealand.

Virat Kohli played an innings of 117 runs off 113 balls in this match which included 9 fours and 2 sixes.

It should be noted that Virat Kohli is the first player to score 50 centuries in ODI cricket.

Before him, the record for most centuries in ODI cricket was held by Sachin Tendulkar who scored 49 centuries in 452 innings, Virat Kohli achieved this honor in 279 innings.

Apart from them, Rohit Sharma has 31 centuries, Ricky Ponting has 30 and Santh Jayasuriya has 28 centuries in ODI cricket.
