The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) appointed Shan Masood as the Test captain and Shaheen Shah Afridi as the captain of the T20 cricket team. The captain of the ODI team will be decided later.
In a statement released on the social media website, PCB announced that 34-year-old Shaan Masood will lead the Test team and 23-year-old Shaheen Shah Afridi will lead the T20 team.
Shaan Masood has represented the national team in 30 Test matches and scored 1,597 runs in 56 innings at an average of 28.51, including 4 centuries and 7 half-centuries, while his highest individual score is 156 runs.
On the other hand, Shaheen Afridi has represented the national team in 54 T20 matches, during which he has taken 64 wickets.
The PCB had initiated changes in the national team and management after the Pakistan Cricket Team’s World Cup performance and Babar Azam’s departure from captaincy in all three formats.
According to sources, PCB had offered Babar Azam the captaincy of the Test team but he declined.
