The governing council of Pakistan Super League (PSL) has decided to consult the government and security agencies regarding the dates of the 9th edition.

According to PCB, a PSL Governing Council meeting was held at the National Cricket Academy under the chairmanship of Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Zaka Ashraf, in which representatives of all six franchises of PCL and Pakistan Cricket Board officials were present. attended.

In the meeting, all issues related to the ninth edition of Pakistan Super League were discussed in detail, including operational and logistical issues.

According to PCB, the PSL 9 draft will be held in mid-December, immediately after the conclusion of the National T20 Cup.

In the meeting, it was fully agreed that since the general elections in the country have been announced to be held in February 2024, the government of Pakistan should be consulted to finalize the date of Pakistan Super League 9.

The franchisees of PCL asked the Pakistan Cricket Board to speed up the process of selling the media rights of PSL.

On the other hand, the sources said that in the meeting, a detailed discussion was held regarding the window and venues of PSL. The window for PSL 9 has been fixed from February 8 to March 24 next year. It has been decided to consult with the government and security agencies regarding the window.

Sources said that due to the general elections, various options were considered. If the government and security agencies give their consent, the full PSL will be held in Pakistan. If there is any difficulty due to elections, new options of venues will be considered.

Sources said that the draft of PSL 9 was also discussed in the meeting, the date of December 15 has been given for the PSL draft.
