Caretaker Health Minister Dr. Javed Ikram explained the reason for the rapid increase in the number of diabetes patients in the country.
Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman and Caretaker Health Minister Dr. Javed Ikram also participated in the walk regarding Diabetes Awareness Day in Punjab.
On this occasion, Dr. Javed Ikram expressed his opinion and said that the number of diabetes patients in the country is increasing rapidly but it is not the fault of the people because we are not informing the people in the right way.
He said that the first patient with diabetes was a 4-year-old child when insulin was invented.
The Caretaker Health Minister also said that the country needs 550,000 dialysis machines while we have only 85,000 machines.
Governor Punjab Balighur Rehman said that diabetes causes many diseases including vision and kidney.
He also said that diet and healthy lifestyle should be adopted to prevent diabetes.
