Lahore: The Punjab government has announced a public holiday to protect citizens from air pollution and smog.
Regarding the situation of smog and Lahore once again being listed as a city in terms of environmental pollution, an important meeting of the caretaker cabinet was held, in which necessary measures were taken for the health and safety of the people.
In the meeting, environmental and health emergency was imposed in Lahore, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Narowal divisions, while Friday, November 10, was announced as a public holiday and it was decided to suspend all activities for 4 days.
According to the announcement issued by the government, schools, colleges, universities, government and private offices, restaurants, cinemas, parks, gyms will remain closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Apart from this, it has been decided in the meeting to keep marriage halls, pharmacies, bakeries open and to run public transport.
Sources say that there is a strong possibility of rain in Lahore on November 8 and 9, in view of which the 9th and 10th have also been declared as public holidays.
According to the government announcement, the citizens will stay in their homes by suspending activities like Corona for four days, this decision can reduce environmental pollution and smog.
