Afghanistan’s polio virus has arrived in Lahore, it has been decided to run the anti-polio campaign again.
After confirming the environmental sample, the Punjab Polio Program said that the Afghanistan variant of polio was found in the sewage of Lahore.
According to the provincial polio program, polio virus was confirmed in the environmental sample taken from the outfall road.
It has been decided to run a polio campaign again after the environmental samples are positive in Lahore. Polio campaign will be conducted in 28 USCs of the city next month.
According to the Punjab Polio Program, it has also been decided to map the population if the environmental samples are positive.
Further investigations are underway on the report of Afghan polio virus.
