Umar Gul's advice to the national team busy in the World Cup

Former fast bowler Umar Gul gave advice to the national team busy in World Cup 2023.

In a special conversation with Geo News, Umar Gul said that there is no room for mistakes in a mega event, learn from your mistakes and move forward, there is enough talent in the Pakistan team, if you follow the plan according to the conditions, you will get success.

The former fast bowler added that the national cricket team has full potential to move forward, there are chances to bounce back and enter the Super Four.

He said that for the last 2-3 years we had a good bowling attack in the form of Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah.

Umar Gul also said that the absence of Naseem Shah in the World Cup has made a big difference to Pakistan’s bowling attack, taking 5 wickets in the last match must have given Shaheen Afridi a lot of confidence.

He said that bowlers need self-motivation, forget the past matches and focus on the future, Haris Rauf has to pick himself up and remember his best performance.

The former fast bowler said that the Indian wickets are not very suitable for the bowlers, the boundaries are also small, here the bowlers who know the conditions quickly and keep their line and length will be successful.

He said that on Indian wickets the bowlers do not have any margin to give room to the batsman or to bowl outside, discipline is required here.

Umar Gul said that the national team is fully capable of bouncing back.

He said that India has prepared two to three players for each position keeping in mind the World Cup, in my view South Africa and New Zealand can join the Super Four.

The former fast bowler said that it is necessary to see how the wicket is in the match between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The wickets of the previous two matches were completely different.

He said that Pakistan is not such a light team, they have good players in batting and bowling, there will be no problem in the match.

Umar Gul said that my favorite ICC event was the T20 World Cup 2009, in which taking 5 wickets against New Zealand and becoming the world champion were happy moments.
