Lahore: The Federal Ministry of Interior has identified people involved in wheat flour smuggling and hoarding across the country on the basis of intelligence information.

Across the country, 434 flour mills, 623 middlemen and 345 landlords have been found involved in smuggling, hoarding. The intelligence report of the federal interior ministry was provided to the chief secretaries of the four provinces, after which the district administration in Punjab started a second inspection of the mills and persons included in the list.

In the official report, the mill owner’s name, address, phone number, identity card number and wheat storage capacity have been written. According to the intelligence report, 434 flour mills, 623 middlemen, 345 landlords are involved in smuggling, hoarding, 216 flour mills in Punjab are involved in wheat flour smuggling and government quota theft.

92 flour mills of Sindh are involved in wheat flour smuggling and hoarding. 88 flour mills in Pakhtunkhwa and 37 flour mills in Balochistan are involved in smuggling and hoarding.

387 of Punjab, 172 of Sindh middlemen are involved in wheat and flour smuggling. 59 middlemen in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 5 in Balochistan were found involved in smuggling and hoarding.

214 zamindars of Punjab and 81 of Sindh are involved in hoarding. 45 zamindars of Pakhtunkhwa, 5 of Balochistan have been found involved in smuggling and hoarding.
