Former president of International Cricket Council (ICC) and ex-PCB chair Ehsan Mani has said that the Pakistan Cricket Board should show leadership if Pakistani spectators and journalists are not issued visas to India, then Pakistani cricket before the India match. The team should be called back.
In an interview with Jang, Ehsan Mani said that there is no justification for the Pakistani cricket team to play in the World Cup in India under the circumstances where a no-go area has been created for Pakistani spectators and journalists.
He further said that the PCB should decide on this on Monday and the Indian conspiracy should be busted. It is not right to involve politics in cricket.
Ehsan Mani said that India is violating the ICC agreement by creating these conditions. No tournament in the world can happen without spectators and journalists. In the current situation, if Pakistan withdraws its team from India, there will be no financial loss to the PCB.
He said that when I was the PCB chairman, I had raised the same point three times in the ICC meeting that what would be the policy for Pakistani spectators and journalists. It was said that there will be no problem on the visa of Pakistanis. But now that the tournament has started, Pakistanis are not being allowed to enter India.
