South Africa made a new history in the Cricket World Cup, for the first time in the history of the World Cup three centuries were scored in one innings.
While batting against Sri Lanka in the fourth match of the World Cup 2023, South Africa’s Quinton de Kock, Rashee van der Dusen and Aiden Markram scored centuries.
There have been 18 previous double centuries in an innings in the Cricket World Cup, only the fourth time in the history of ODI cricket that three centuries have been scored in an innings.
Three out of four times this feat was done by South Africa, once by England, South Africa scored three centuries against the West Indies in January 2015 and India in October 2015, England scored three centuries in an innings against the Netherlands in 2022.
