Japan qualified for the semi-finals of the Asian Games hockey by defeating Pakistan. The Pakistan team is out of the race for the semi-finals, which will now play for the fifth position.

In the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, the Pakistan hockey team was eliminated from the semi-final race after losing two consecutive group matches.

In the important match against Japan, Pakistan had to face defeat by three goals against two.

In the fifth minute of the match, Arshad Liaquat scored the first goal on behalf of Pakistan to give the team victory, two minutes later Japan ended the lead by scoring a goal, after which Japan strengthened its position by scoring two more goals.

On behalf of Pakistan, Arbaaz reduced the deficit by scoring in the 28th minute, but after that no team could score a goal and thus the match ended with a 3-2 lead for Japan, which also qualified for the semi-finals.

Pakistan will now play the fifth position match in the Asian Games.
