Two more warm-up matches before the Cricket World Cup 2023 were rained out.
The warm-up match between Australia and the Netherlands in the city of Thiruvananthapuram in the Indian state of Kerala was abandoned without any result due to rain.
In this match which was limited to 23 overs per innings, Australia scored 166 runs for 7 wickets while batting first.
Steve Smith played an innings of 55 runs, Cameron Green scored 34 runs and Alex Carey scored 28 runs while Mitchell Starc remained unbeaten with 24 runs.
In pursuit of the target, the Netherlands batsmen were initially in trouble when Mitchell Starc scored a hat-trick.
He completed his hat-trick by dismissing a Dutchman off the fifth and sixth balls of his first over and a Dutchman off the first ball of the next over.
Before the match was abandoned due to rain, the Netherlands team scored 84 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the 15th over.
Colin Ackerman remained unbeaten by scoring 31 runs on behalf of the Dutch team.
On the other hand, the warm-up match between England and India was also rained out and where the toss was held, it was ended without any action on the field.
It should be noted that only two of the 5 warm-up matches have yielded results so far.
