Polio virus has been confirmed once again in the environmental samples of different cities of Pakistan.
According to officials, polio has been confirmed in 2 environmental samples from Hangu city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 1 from Karachi.
Polio virus has been confirmed in samples taken from Hangu Civil Hospital and Jani Chowk.
Officials say that the polio virus found in Hangu is genetically similar to the virus found in Rawalpindi.
According to officials, polio virus has also been found in the environmental samples of Kemari area of Karachi.
Officials have said that polio virus has been confirmed in 27 environmental samples in Pakistan so far.
It should be remembered that the 7-day anti-polio campaign in Karachi will start from October 2 next month.
From October 2, more than 2.6 lakh children are targeted for polio vaccination, while children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years will also be given vitamin A.
During the anti-polio campaign, 3,500 personnel will be on duty.
