The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran issued a statement announcing the imposition of sanctions on several individuals and institutions of the European Union and the British government.
According to the details, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran has imposed sanctions on several European Union and British government officials and institutions as part of a countermeasure.
According to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, these sanctions are being applied as a countermeasure in accordance with the approval of the relevant institutions and within the scope of the relevant rules and regulations and sanctions procedures.
The statement said that the above institutions and individuals of the European Union and the British government are being added to the list of sanctions for supporting terrorism and terrorist groups. These individuals and organizations are responsible for inciting and encouraging acts of terrorism, violence and hatred against the Iranian people, interfering in Iran’s internal affairs, promoting violence and unrest in Iran, and disseminating false information about Iran. And also engage in economic terrorism against the Iranian people, imposing and intensifying brutal sanctions.
The Islamic Republic of Iran condemns the refusal of the governments of the European Union and the United Kingdom to support, facilitate and prevent the acts of sabotage by the above-mentioned individuals and entities, and this is against international obligations regarding the fight against terrorism. There is a violation. At the same time, it declares that the actions of those imposing and increasing the cruel sanctions are a clear violation of the fundamental principles of international law enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations.
It has been clarified in the statement that all institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran will take necessary measures to implement these restrictions, including banning the issuance of visas, making it impossible for the aforementioned persons to enter the Islamic Republic of Iran, as approved by the relevant authorities. Iran’s financial and banking system includes freezing their bank accounts and confiscating their property and assets in areas under the jurisdiction of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
