No new team is being added in season 9 of Pakistan Super League (PSL), only 6 teams will participate in the event.
A PSL Governing Council meeting was held in Lahore under the chairmanship of Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee Zaka Ashraf in which various issues of PSL were discussed.
According to PCB, only 6 teams will participate in PSL 9, no new team will be added in the upcoming PSL season.
According to the Cricket Board, women’s league or exhibition matches will be explored during the PSL to promote women’s cricket.
PSL Nine will be held from February 8 to March 24, the final schedule of the event will be approved in the next meeting of PSL.
The meeting also discussed the process of digital media rights and other commercial tenders of PSL 9 while the report of the previous event of PSL was presented to the franchisees in the meeting.
In the meeting, the services of the former owner of Multan Sultans, Alamgir Tareen, were appreciated.
On the other hand, sources say that PSL will not be shifted to Dubai due to elections or any other reason, all the franchises have agreed not to shift PSL elsewhere.
Sources said that the PSL schedule will be changed if there is a possibility that the matches will be affected due to the elections.
