The official anthem created by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for the World Cup 2023 could not impress cricket fans.
Cricket fans were eagerly waiting for the ICC World Cup 2023 anthem, but their expectations were dashed when the anthem was released yesterday.
It should be noted that the World Cup 2023 anthem has been released on ICC’s YouTube channel as ‘Dil Jashan Bole’ in which Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has performed.
Its lyrics were penned by Shloke Lal and Sawiri Verma, while Pritam, Naqsh Aziz, Srimachandra, Amit Mishra, Junita Gandhi, Akasa and Charan tried unsuccessfully to work their vocal magic.
With the release of the anthem, cricket fans embraced actor Ranveer Singh while Pakistanis remembered singer Ali Zafar.
A user on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) requested Ali Zafar to sing the World Cup anthem and wrote, ‘We want the World Cup anthem in your voice’.
Responding to the above user, Ali Zafar said that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the big brands sponsoring them are responsible for this, they have marketing professionals who guide them but if I am always there when my country needs me, but I have my own ideas and my own way of doing things.
He added that the corporate culture has its merits and demerits which I don’t want to comment on but if it’s not fun, ‘Bhai Haart Hai’ is there.
