The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has announced a 15-member squad for the Cricket World Cup 2023 scheduled to be held in India. Hashmatullah Shahidi has been retained as captain.
ACB announced the squad on micro-blogging website X (formerly Twitter).
The squad includes Hashmatullah Shahidi (captain), Rahmanullah Garbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, Riaz Hasan, Rahmat Shah, Najeebullah Zadran, Muhammad Nabi, Ikram Ali Khel, Azmatullah Omarzai, Rashid Khan, Mujibur Rehman, Noor Ahmed, Fazal Haq Farooqui, Abdul Rehman. And Naveen-ul-Haq are included.
According to ACB, Gulbuddin Naib, Sharafuddin Ashraf and Fareed Ahmed have been included in the reserve players.
It should be noted that the World Cup will begin on October 5 with a match between the defending champions England and the runners-up of the previous event, New Zealand.
Afghanistan team will play their first match in the event on October 7 against Bangladesh. Afghanistan will face Pakistan in the tournament on October 23.
