The Asian Cricket Council has approved the reserve day for the scheduled match between Pakistan and India in the Asia Cup.
The Pakistan Cricket Board had raised objections several times in the context of rains in Sri Lanka and had expressed reservations regarding the rain forecast and the rescheduling of the event.
After PCB’s reservations and objections, ACC has now decided on the reserve day under which the Pakistan India match scheduled on September 10 will be given as a reserve day.
If the India-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup is not completed on September 10, then this match will continue on September 11 and the match will start from where it was stopped.
If the match goes on reserve day then India will have to play back to back matches as India vs Sri Lanka match in Asia Cup is scheduled on September 12.
It should be noted that the matches of the Asia Cup Super Four stage in Colombo will start from September 9, for which the teams of Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are present in Colombo.
It should be remembered that the India-Pakistan match played at the Pali Kale Stadium on September 2 in the Asia Cup was abandoned due to rain.
