Chicago: Air pollution, especially 2.5 PM particles, is making the population of the world sick and thus shortening their average life.

This report is presented by the organization and website called Airquality Life Index which can be called a rich data. The report states that if the climate around the world is brought to the standard of the World Health Organization (WHO), it will reduce the burden of diseases, the average life expectancy will increase by 2.3 years, that is, the world as a whole. 17 billion more years will be added to people’s lives.

The report has emphasized that PM 2.5 particles are also emitted from the burning of polluted factories, vehicles and fuel. These are embedded in the lungs. They are added to the blood and are causing various diseases.

According to the report, air pollution is as dangerous as smoking, drinking alcohol and drinking contaminated water. It said that surprisingly, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, China and India have been called centers of polluted air and atmosphere. Three-quarters of global air pollution is or may be affecting this population.

The report’s lead author and University of Chicago professor Dr. Michael Greenstone says. Common people of the above mentioned six countries are losing six years of their average life to pollution. According to him, the situation in Asia and Africa is very bad, while the governments are not serious in solving this problem. Urgent measures and strict policies are needed in this regard.

The report says that under the global fund, about four billion dollars are being spent on TB, AIDS, malaria, etc., but there is no money, no interest, and no clear plan for air pollution. Astonishingly, only $1.4 million a year has been allocated to the whole of Asia to reduce air pollution, which is the equivalent of cumin in a camel’s mouth. Among these countries, China, India and Pakistan are the most affected by air pollution.

The report says that the international organization should establish a fund for clean air and atmosphere.
