The selection committee of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) held preliminary consultation for the World Cup squad, middle order batsman Saud Shakeel was agreed to be part of the 15 member squad.
Sources say that captain Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Muhammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman, Imamul Haq, Saud Shakeel, Agha Salman, Iftikhar Ahmed and Muhammad Nawaz are likely to be included in the World Cup squad.
Osama Mir, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Haris and Wasim Jr are also likely to be included in the World Cup squad.
The date for announcing the 15-member squads for the ICC Cricket World Cup is September 5. Until September 28, teams can change squads without the permission of the International Cricket Council (ICC), after September 28, changes in teams will be with the permission of the ICC.
Sources say that Pakistan’s World Cup squad is proposed to be announced after the Asia Cup, while the PCB will send the initial squad names to the ICC by September 5.
