Lahore: The Indian government has released the Pakistani youth who crossed the border by mistake from the Narwal area of Punjab after two and a half years. A young man named Shahbaz Ahmad reached back to Pakistan via Wagah border.
The spokesperson of the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi said that Shahbaz Ahmad was imprisoned in the Central Jail of the Indian city of Amritsar for the past two and a half years.
According to the authorities, Shahbaz Ahmad crossed the border by mistake from Narowal area and entered the Indian territory.
The Indian security authorities detained Shehbaz Ahmed and registered a case against him under the illegal entry into India and the Foreigners Act.
The young man was released due to the efforts of the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi. Shahbaz Ahmad was handed over to the Punjab Rangers at the Wagah border by the Indian authorities on Friday.
As soon as Shahbaz Ahmed entered the borders of his homeland, his face lit up with joy. Shahbaz Ahmed thanked the authorities while hoisting the national flag.
