Caretaker Health Minister Punjab Dr. Javed Akram has said that the current vaccine for dengue is not that effective, work is going on to make it more effective.
Talking to the media in Lahore, Dr. Javed Akram said that citizens’ cooperation is required for complete control of dengue, dengue in Pakistan affects adults more than children.
Dr. Javed Akram said that dengue vaccine trials are going to be conducted, 48,000 cases of dengue were reported this year, dengue season will continue until January 2024.
He also said that platelets should not be given to a dengue patient.
