Army Chief's assurance of support for the continuation of caretaker government's policies for economic recovery


The Apex Committee of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) approved the projects approved by the previous government, while Army Chief General Asim Munir assured the Pakistan Army’s full cooperation with the caretaker government to restore the country’s economy.

In the Apex Committee meeting of the Special Investment Facilitation Council under the chairmanship of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar Haq Kakar, the projects related to agriculture, livestock, mining, minerals, IT and energy approved by the previous government were approved.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the first meeting of the fourth apex committee of SIFC was held under the leadership of the caretaker government to continue the positive momentum under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) initiative.

The meeting chaired by Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar Haq Kakar was attended by Army Chief General Asim Munir, Federal Cabinet, Chief Ministers, Provincial Ministers and high level government officials.

The Cabinet took a thorough review of SIFC’s initiatives including the progress made in key areas and the achievements thus achieved in a very short span of time.

The Caretaker Prime Minister appreciated the effective functioning of SIFC through a collaborative “whole-of-government approach” to achieve greater coordination.

The APEX Committee appreciated SIFC’s global outreach strategy and ongoing engagement with friendly countries, including the fruitful high-level delegations from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFC). Tours are included.

The Apex Committee expressed confidence in SIFC’s initiatives and expressed its commitment and support in maintaining the positive momentum towards recovery of the country’s economy.

The Caretaker Prime Minister directed to speed up the completion of identified projects by taking advantage of the favorable environment already achieved by SIFC.

Army Chief General Asim Munir expressed his commitment to all possible cooperation of the Pakistan Army with the caretaker government for the restoration of the country’s economy and the continuation of the policies to move Pakistan towards development and prosperity.
