Former national team captain Salman Butt has termed fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi’s first spell as a test for the world’s biggest batsmen.
Talking to the media in Lahore, Salman Butt said that everyone knows Shaheen Afridi’s new ball comes in and he hits yorkers.
He further said that the first spell of Shaheen Shah Afridi is a test for the big batsmen of the world. Congratulations to the national team for becoming world number one.
The former national team captain also said that if the Indian batsmen are practicing to play Shaheen Afridi, then it is a good thing, they should continue to try to play well.
He said that a lot of hard work is required to maintain the number one position, Pakistan team has tough goals ahead, including the Asia Cup and the World Cup.
Salman Butt said that currently Pakistan’s combination is very good, the players of Pakistan team are playing unitedly which is a good thing.
He said that middle order batsman Saud Shakeel’s technique is very good, the way Saud Shakeel plays will be successful in ODI cricket as well.
The former captain of the national team said that unfortunately our middle order batsmen could not play long innings, Pakistan will benefit from playing in Sri Lanka before the Asia Cup.
He said that when you have played on this ground and pitches before a big tournament, the conditions are beneficial, the captain and the players have gained a lot of experience playing in Sri Lanka.
Salman Butt added that there is no need to explain to the senior players of the team, they are now capable of taking decisions, if Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are dismissed, the rest of the players do not have the experience of playing under pressure.
He said that the names of other Indian players are big, but they cannot win matches alone in difficult situations, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli alone can win matches for their team.
