The Lahore High Court has directed the federal government to submit a written response on the issue of possible dismissal of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Management Committee Zaka Ashraf.
Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal of Lahore High Court heard the case.
The court recommended to send the application to Justice Shahid Karim for further hearing.
The Lahore High Court rejected the request to send the petition to the Secretary Election Commission.
According to the court order, the Additional Attorney General appeared in the court and said that the matter has gone to the Cabinet Division only, the petitioner has filed a summary challenge.
Zaka Ashraf’s lawyer said that before the World Cup, Secretary PCB wants to bring the chairman of its management committee.
The lawyer said that the Secretary Election Commission wrote a letter to the institutions in the context of the general elections in the country, PCB has nothing to do with the general elections in the country, the Chairman Board of Management PCB was appointed by the federal government, the caretaker government. It does not have the power to overrule the decisions of the elected government.
Zaka Ashraf’s lawyer requested that the letter written by the secretary PCB to remove Zaka Ashraf should be nullified.
