Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem has qualified for the javelin throw event of the Paris Olympics.
Arshad Nadeem secured a ticket to the Paris Olympics by making a spectacular throw during the World Athletics Championships in Hungary.
In the javelin throw events of the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Arshad Nadeem threw 86.79 in his third time in Group B and also qualified for the final of the event.
According to the qualifying standard of the Paris Olympics, a throw of 85.5 in the javelin throw will directly qualify the athlete for the Olympics, thus Arshad Nadeem secured a place in the Paris Olympics.
Arshad Nadeem has qualified for the Olympics for the second time in a row, before that he made a place in the Tokyo Olympics by making a brilliant throw in the SAFF Championship.
Arshad Nadeem has also qualified directly for the javelin throw final of the World Athletics Championships with a throw of 86.79.
Arshad had earlier thrown 70.63 in the first innings and 86.79 in the second.
Defending champion Anderson Peters, on the other hand, failed to make the final, with a throw of 78.49 which was insufficient to place him in the top 12.
