Riyadh: The Cabinet of Saudi Arabia has jointly welcomed the restoration of relations with Iran and said that it is looking forward to the beginning of a new era of relations with Iran.
According to the Saudi media, while discussing the restoration of diplomatic relations with Iran in the meeting of the Saudi cabinet, he called it a national interest and said that he is waiting for the implementation of other points of the agreement on the restoration of relations.
The Saudi cabinet also discussed the implementation of the agreement with Iran and formulated a formal strategy in this regard and also expressed the hope that Iran will show speed to implement the agreement.
The statement issued after the meeting said that Saudi-Iran is looking forward to a new era of relations based on common interests and mutual respect.
This unusual meeting of the cabinet of Saudi Arabia took place after the visit of the Iranian foreign minister to Saudi Arabia and the meeting with the ruler Mohammad bin Salman.
It should be noted that the restoration of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia took place after an agreement brokered by China in March, and both countries have opened their embassies here, which have been closed since 2016.
