Polio virus has been confirmed in an environmental sample from Rawalpindi. The Caretaker Health Minister requested the parents to support the fight against polio.
Caretaker Health Minister says that the most sensitive polio surveillance system is established in Pakistan.
This is the second positive weather pattern from Rawalpindi this year. Earlier in July, polio virus was detected in a sample taken from Sarai Kullah site.
The Health Minister said that a comprehensive strategy has been formulated to eradicate polio, special attention is being given to high risk areas.
Nadeem Jan said that 60% of my time consists of polio eradication strategy.
He said that he will not leave China until even one child is deprived of polio drops.
He said that parents are also requested to support us in the fight against polio.
