Moscow: After nearly 50 years, Russia’s Luna 25 mission to the moon has been destroyed after hitting the lunar surface at the last minute.

After 1976, Russia sent a modern spacecraft to the moon, which was the first to orbit the moon. It was supposed to land near a crater on the moon called Bogiuslovsky Crater, located at the lunar south pole.

Before his final journey, he sent stunning images of the moon back to Earth.

At present, the earth and other objects can be seen in his magnificent images. The 800 kg Leona 25 was launched into space last Friday. After that, it gradually moved towards the moon and now it had become the boss of its orbit. Its main mission included the search for water on the moon, but it was also responsible for chemical testing of soil composition and collecting samples.

On Saturday, the mission spun out of control, then lost contact and is believed to have since strayed from orbit and crashed into the moon. It should be noted that a Russian mission called Leona 24 was sent to the moon in 1976.
