Lahore: The government lawyer has submitted a reply to the court regarding the purchase of new vehicles in Punjab, stating that approval of the new vehicles has been given for better performance of government affairs.
A hearing was held in the Lahore High Court on the application against the notification of giving new vehicles to Assistant Commissioners and other officers, in which the Board of Revenue Department submitted its response to the court order.
In the reply submitted, the government counsel told the court that the vehicles used by the officers are old and dirty, which incur huge expenses for repairs. Approved new vehicles to the officers for better performance of government affairs. More than 2 billion 34 crore rupees were allocated for the purchase of new vehicles for the officers.
Justice Sultan Tanveer Ahmed directed to give the copies of the public counsel’s reply to the petitioners in the case of notification of new vehicles for officers on the petitions of citizen Shiraz Altaf and others.

It should be noted that the petitions have challenged the notification of giving new vehicles to the officers.
