The Punjab Health Department has released a report on deaths from diphtheria and measles in which it has been revealed that children have died from diphtheria and measles in Punjab.
According to the report, 25 children died of measles and 9 children died of diphtheria between December 25 and 31, 1,932 cases of measles have been reported in Punjab.
The report stated that 395 children were infected with measles in Lahore and 334 in Rawalpindi, while 121 cases of diphtheria were reported from the province.
According to the report, cases of diphtheria were reported in Faisalabad, Jhang, Rahim Yar Khan and Rawalpindi. Among the confirmed cases of measles, 32 percent of children did not receive any dose of measles vaccine.
16% of confirmed measles cases have received a measles vaccine.
Confirmed cases of measles have been reported in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Sheikhupura, Attock, Qasor, Toba Tek Singh, Okara.
