According to the international news organization, Shafiullah Rahimi, the spokesman of the Ministry of Disaster Management of the Taliban government, said that the continuous rains since Friday have turned into floods. Residential areas were flooded and many villages were submerged.

The spokesperson of the Taliban further said that the number of people who died due to flood in one day has increased to 26, including women and children, while more than 40 are missing for whom rescue work is going on.

After 26 deaths in Maidan Wardak, the death toll due to rains across the country has risen to 35. 650 houses were destroyed. 1500 people have been shifted to safe place.

The ready crops in the fields were also destroyed by the flood water. Some areas of Maidan Wardak province were declared disaster-hit.
