Talking to Geo News, Jahangir Khan said that we have been the world champion of squash for 30 years and it took 37 years to win the world junior title, which shows that nothing is being done for squash in the country. Honestly, the people who are running the federation are incompetent, they have never held a racket.
The former world champion said that there is no dearth of talent in the country, there are many Hamzas roaming around, just a platform needs to be provided.
He appealed to the government to correct the issues, to bring expert people in the federation.
Jahangir Khan also said that in the past Pakistan had a position of its own in squash, the standard we used to play Pakistan should have continued with such victories.
He also said that the people running the squash should be experts and on merit, there is no plan, nothing is being done that should be done, there are academies in the world, there are coaching programs for the players, it is a pity that Hamza’s coach could not go with him in the same tournament, officials go to the tournament who have never even held a racket.
It should be remembered that Pakistan’s Hamza Khan became the World Junior Squash Champion after defeating the player from Egypt. Hamza defeated Egypt’s Muhammad Zakaria 1-3 in the final match.
