Pakistan Endocrine Society has issued guidelines for the treatment of diabetes.
In this regard, Pakistan Endocrine Society President Dr. Abrar Ahmed has said that guidelines have been given for uniform, standard and cheap treatment of diabetes.
He has said that the guidelines for the treatment of diabetes have been issued simultaneously in 35 cities of Pakistan.
Dr. Abrar Ahmed says that the youth in Pakistan are suffering from diabetes in large numbers, mostly people between 20 and 40 years of age are affected by diabetes.
They say that the guidelines will help prevent blindness and disability among diabetic patients, unhealthy diet and lack of exercise are the main causes of diabetes in Pakistan.
Professor AH Amir says that 75 lakh people are suffering from diabetes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, more than 70 lakh people are at risk of diabetes in the province.
