National cricket team’s middle-order batsman Saud Shakeel became a wall in front of the Sri Lankan bowlers, creating history in Sri Lanka by completing the first double century of his career while playing with the tail-ends.
In the first Test match of the series being played in Galle, when the Pakistani team was in dire straits, then Saud Shakeel took over one end along with Agha Salman.
Saud Shakeel supported Agha Salman first while playing a marathon innings and completed his century, here Agha Salman was stumped and it seemed as if the Pakistani batting line would collapse soon.
However, playing alongside Nauman Ali, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah and Abrar Ahmed, Saud Shakeel completed his double century.
It should be noted that this is the first double century of Saud Shakeel’s career. He took 352 balls to achieve this milestone while this innings also included 19 fours.
Saud Shakeel became the first Pakistani batsman to score a double century in Sri Lanka.
