The foundation stone of the National Cancer Hospital was laid at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital in the federal capital, Islamabad.
Federal Health Minister Abdul Qadir Patel laid the foundation stone of the cancer hospital.
Speaking on this occasion, Abdul Qadir Patel said that the foundation stone of the cancer hospital was laid on the orders of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
He said that the Prime Minister could not come to lay the foundation stone due to his busy schedule.
The Health Minister says that this hospital was supposed to be inaugurated in 2018, but it was delayed due to stubbornness and ego, and in the past, all developmental works were obstructed.
Abdul Qadir Patel said that due to delay the cost of the project increased manifold, the cancer hospital was neglected due to political ambitions.
He also said that 30% of the work on the cancer hospital building has been completed, the project will be completed in the next two years.
